We love touting and holding over others’ heads when we hit on a player no one (or few) saw coming. It feels good to be right especially when it corresponds with others being wrong. Betting on outliers is a similar process in dynasty player projection land. It is cool to mention a low pedigree option as your RB1 in a class, or how they will break out, etc. But typically, even with a flash, those outliers or poor bets as the price goes up, turn back into relative pumpkins and, as I like to say, said dynasty owner has to pay the piper.
