Best Stacks
Tom Brady ($15,300) + Julian Edelman ($13,700) = $29,000
This is the expensive stack of the week. The Patriots have shown before that they refuse to take the foot off the gas no matter how many points they are winning by. If you can find a way to not only stack Julian Edelman but also Rob Gronkowski here, it will be hard to mess up this week.
Derek Carr ($11,300) + Michael Crabtree ($9,000) = $20,300
Amari Cooper is starting to get the WR1 treatment and teams are shifting coverage his way. That being said Michael Crabtree will be the beneficiary of lighter coverage and Broncos most likely getting up early. Derek Carr will be firing away and I want Crabtree in my line-up.
Alex Smith ($10,700) + Jeremy Maclin ($12,300) = $19,600
We are probably not going to have the Chiefs fighting back in this game the same way they did against the Bengals but Andy Reid should have learned a valuable lesson in letting Alex Smith fire to his play-making wide receiver early and often.
Players To Avoid
Drew Brees – $13,800 (vs. PHI)
Brees is the 4th-most expensive quarterback at FantasyDraft this week. We have no way of knowing how Brees’ shoulder will respond to the number of passes that he put up week 4 and he should stay clear of your DFS line-ups.
Joseph Randle – $11,600 (vs. NE)
The Patriots way of handing business is keying in on the best player and shutting them down. The best skill position for the Cowboys would be Joseph Randle. Being on thin ice already the Patriots could help usher in a changing of the guard in the Cowboys backfield.
Amari Cooper – $12,900 (vs. DEN)
Talib and Harris will have their hands full keeping cooper in check, but they will be physical and not let him run wild on them the same way he has the last two weeks.
Jimmy Graham – $12,400 (vs. CIN)
The Bengals are one of the top teams in the NFL against tight ends. Shutting down Travis Kelce is good practice for doing the same thing to Jimmy Graham. He is currently the 2nd-highest priced tight end at FantasyDraft.
Tournament Plays
Brandon Weeden ($10,500)
Rob Ryan might be the most overrated defensive coordinator in the NFL. With another week under his belt, better timing with his receivers, and the Saints allowing 6th most points to opposing quarterbacks in the NFL Brandon Weeden could easily be the tournament play of the week at quarterback.
T.J. Yeldon ($8,400)
Tampa Bay is in the bottom quarter of run defenses in the league and finally got on track in Week 4. If Winston keeps turning the ball over Yeldon will have more than a few shots at the end zone.
Nelson Agholor ($8,100)
Sam Bradford start to finally look downfield in week 4 and Nelson Agholor was the recipient (3 receptions for 64 yards). If Bradford continues to gain confidence with his downfield shots Agholor could be replacing Jeremy Maclin in the Eagles offense.
Owen Daniels ($6,300)
Start you tight ends against Oakland. Enough said.
**Bonus Buy of the Week**
We received notice Karlos Williams is in the NFL’s concussion protocol. If Williams can’t go Boobie Dixon will get the start against the Titans and will only cost the minimum ($6,000).
