Welcome to your Weekly Dynasty Challenge here at UTHdynasty.com. What the weekly challenge is designed to do is make you step out of your comfort zone, try some different strategies and become a better dynasty owner. The whole reason we started this site was to create a legion of dominant dynasty leaguers that are as passionate about the game as we are. Without further ado, here is your weekly dynasty challenge.
Assignment: Start scouting more of the small school/unknown prospects that maybe your leaguemates aren’t quite thinking about yet. If you aren’t ahead of the curve, you’re behind it.
The Goal: Everyone is always hoping to find the next Miles Austin, Victor Cruz and Vincent Jackson. The problem with acquiring guys like these is – you usually have to be in an advantageous waiver position in order to pick them up. Well, not if they are already on your watch list prior to the season starting. You’ll be watching their every move.
Because of how deep this rookie class is, you aren’t really hearing a lot of buzz about these small school prospects as you normally do. You can attribute that to a plethora of talent.
Guys like Jeff Janis and Terrance West (amongst others) are players you need to get to know. You just never know who the next big thing is going to be. Leaving no stone unturned is an excellent way to make sure nobody ever sneaks up on you. Sometimes I feel like the ONE guy I didn’t do my homework on ends up getting a shot at some point to contribute on an NFL roster. Realistically, that’s all you’re looking for in these small school guys. Are they talented enough to make an NFL roster? If you do your scouting and determine they are, then they are definitely worthy of rostering. Just to see what happens.
Worst case scenario? You drop them for someone else.
Good luck and keep building those dynasties.
