In Part 1, the devy dynasty league settings and Round 1 were discusses as the devy league kicked off. In Part 2, building a core was focus of this 14-team, deep college-only draft. In Part 3, top-shelf depth was the name of the game. Now, with nearly 300 players off the board already, it was time to test my college mettle.
Rounds 21-30
Nearing 300 players off the board, the talent pool dwindles. Brian Cole (Michigan wide receiver) and Marshawn Williams (Virginia Tech running back) were quality choices from my target list off the board in front of me in Round 21. I had to decide between David Williams (South Carolina running back) and Taiwan Deal (Wisconsin running back) for my pick. I settled on Williams and unfortunately Deal did not make it out of Round 21.
Mike Boone (Cincinnati running back) was another name on my list, going in Round 22. Boone is a rugged interior runner who I watched during the 2014 season on multiple occasions. In Round 23, I go with young and prototypically-sized Syracuse wide receiver Steve Ishmael. While the offense is stunted, Ishmael is the favorite to lead the team through the air.
The following round I add Devon Spalding, who should be in the mix for the lead running back job for Central Michigan despite being a ho-hum recruit coming out. Terry Swanson and Rokeem Williams were two target players to go in this range as well. A player I regret passing on was Jason Croom (Tennessee wide receiver). While on a packed depth chart and already a junior, Croom has NFL measurements and was a quality recruit coming out of high school. Saeed Blacknall from Penn State is another receiver in the Croom mold to go in this range.
