Kapri Bibbs is another twitter request for a prospect write-up. Bibbs went undrafted in 2014, ultimately landing on the Denver Broncos’ practice squad. Here is the projection model view of the former Colorado State running back:

Kapri Bibbs’ projection model profile is a straight-forward one. He has prototypical size, but forgettable athleticism. Production-wise, he exceled as a runner, but was below-average as a receiver in college. Bibbs’ lack of explosion in his drills are alarming with the worst vertical jump in my database since 1999 and a broad jump in the bottom-2%. With an overall athleticism score of 21, here are Bibbs’ closest athletic comparables by the numbers:

  • Montel Harris
  • Ka’Deem Carey
  • <Tier Break>
  • Stefphon Jefferson
  • Shyrone Smith
  • Ennis Haywood
  • Kapri Bibbs
  • Stepfan Taylor

Moving on to production, Kapri Bibbs had a single year of football in college and was quite productive on the ground with 124 rushing yards and 2.2 touchdowns per game. His minimal receiving work gives pause as well as his lack of a sustained body of work. That said, Bibbs’ 81 age-weighted rushing score is the foundation of his 55 overall production model score. Here are his production comparables:

  • Isaiah Crowell
  • Terrance West
  • Tre Mason
  • William Green
  • Maurice Clarett
  • Jonathan Stewart
  • Jerome Harrison
  • Brandon Jacobs

Obviously, a much better list than the athleticism one. The key is weeding out the top-end athletes, which Kapri Bibbs is not. Here is the comparable list:

  • Ka’Deem Carey
  • Montee Ball
  • Mike Hart
  • Kevin Faulk
  • <Tier Break>
  • Kapri Bibbs
  • <Tier Break>
  • Montel Harris
  • Tim Flanders

Even Ka’Deem Carey and Montee Ball at the top of this list are questionable fantasy prospects at this point. Moving down a peg puts Kapri Bibbs on the fringe and on the waiver wire in >99% of dynasty leagues. At least 30 roster spots are required to stash Bibbs into the offseason and I would prefer other down-the-rankings names like Roy Helu, Marion Grice, Chris Polk, Benny Cunningham, and even Lache Seastrunk over Bibbs in a vacuum. The exception would be if an owner had one or more Denver running backs and wanted to hedge their bet.
